Earlier, in the evening of June 19, a number of fishermen who were fishing near the shore suddenly became aware of a male tourist who was calling for help near the Cape and they came close to the shore to render assistance.
According to the tourist, he is a Filipino, who, together with two friends, organized a trek into the forest to discover the natural beauty of the Son Tra Nature Reserve. However, while walking from the concrete road next to the forest, 3 km from Mui Nghi beach, he unfortunately got lost.
Gathering all available information, Bai Bac Border Patrol and some engineers coordinated and divided their forces into two groups to conduct a search for the lost trekkers. At 9:10pm the same day, the forces found the two missing friends.
