National Assembly Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Hai (R) welcomes Chairman of the Algeria-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group Salah Djegloul. |
The N.A. Vice Chairman proposed both sides continue to promote delegation exchanges and contacts at all levels, and enhance information exchange and experience sharing in legislative and supervisory work.
At the same time, both sides should strengthen coordination in monitoring and urging the implementation of signed cooperation agreements; work towards building and improving a favorable legal framework that supports their governments, localities, businesses, and citizens in intensifying exchanges and cooperation. He also called for continued coordination and mutual support at the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and other multilateral parliamentary forums, thereby contributing to the protection of common interests and enhancing each country's voice on the international stage.
Furthermore, he urged both sides to boost exchange activities between the friendship parliamentarians’ groups, young and female parliamentarians, helping to build a solid foundation for the cooperative relationship between the two parliaments and the two peoples.
Emphasizing that Vietnam supports and is ready to serve as a bridge to facilitate the Algerian Parliament’s early accession as an observer to the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), Hai proposed both parliaments and their members encourage their respective governments to implement initiatives aimed at enhancing bilateral relations.
This includes promoting trade promotion activities, diversifying the range of exchanged goods, and continuing to support the successful implementation of the oil and gas joint venture between the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) and Sonatrach.
Vietnam is also ready to strengthen cooperation with Algeria in fields such as digital transformation, green energy, and agriculture, added Hai.
For his part, Salah Djegloul said that Algeria wishes to learn from Vietnam’s experiences in administrative procedure reform, digital transformation, green agriculture, and aquaculture.
Building on the outcomes of the meeting between the two countries’ Friendship Parliamentarians’ Groups, he expressed his hope that the groups will continue to exchange experiences in various fields, thereby promoting the successful implementation of socio-economic development plans and contributing to a prosperous and well-off life for the people.
Algeria is always ready to serve as a bridge for Vietnamese goods to access the North African and African markets - regions with high demand for consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, and industrial products; and hopes that Vietnam will act as a gateway for Algeria to access the ASEAN market, he added.
