Vietnam story shared through “Coffee with the Ambassador” initiative in Austria
Vietnam’s Ambassador to Austria Vu Le Thai Hoang held a dialogue on February 12 with lecturers and international postgraduate students at the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna, where he highlighted the outcomes of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the country’s foreign policy and economic diplomacy, as well as relations between the European Union and ASEAN, and Vietnam in particular.

The event also marked the launch of a new dialogue series entitled “Coffee with the Ambassador” by the Vietnamese Embassy. The initiative is designed to advance public diplomacy efforts by proactively providing updates on Vietnam’s policy, business and investment climate, and tourism potential in the new development era. At the same time, it seeks to promote economic diplomacy by coordinating with Vietnamese enterprises and localities to introduce and showcase renowned Vietnamese coffee products during policy discussions.
During the exchange, lecturers and students from 10 countries and territories across Europe and Asia expressed keen interest in and support for the initiative. Many described “Coffee with the Ambassador” as an engaging blend of politics, economy and culture within diplomatic practice, enabling policy messages to be conveyed in a vivid and accessible manner while helping to amplify Vietnam’s development story in the new era.
The initiative has received positive responses from Austrian ministries and agencies, the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, the local business community, and Vietnamese coffee enterprises, which have pledged to accompany the embassy in expanding the dialogue series in the coming period.
