Vietnam, Russia further deepen relations
President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Do Van Chien welcomed a delegation of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation led by its Vice Chairman Alexander Shkolnik in Hanoi on September 10.
Chien highlighted Vietnam’s deep gratitude to Russia for its support to Vietnam in its past fight for independence and its current development. Vietnam remains committed to enhancing its comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia, promoting cooperation across all sectors for mutual benefit and the sake of global peace.

He highly valued the Civic Chamber’s role in Russia's development and expressed his hope for effective implementation of the Cooperation Program Memorandum between the two sides for 2024-2029. The program aims to strengthen traditional ties and strategic partnerships, including cultural exchanges and language promotion.
For his part, Alexander Shkolnik reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to strengthening relations with Vietnam, highlighting the importance of ongoing political trust and cooperation. He also offered condolences to Vietnam over the losses caused by Typhoon Yagi.
The two sides emphasized the significance of the signed memorandum in fostering collaboration across various fields, marking a new milestone in the two countries’ partnership.
