Vietnam, Russia deepen education cooperation
Vietnam and Russia should diversify education cooperation programs for better results in the field , said Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha during a working session with Russian Minister of Education and Science Olga Yurevna Vasylieva on June 28 in Moscow.
The meeting was made during President Tran Dai Quang’s official visit to Russia from June 28 to July 1.
Lauding the traditional friendship between the two nations and their education ministries, Minister Nha thanked the Russian Ministry of Education and Science for granting nearly 1,000 scholarships to Vietnamese graduates and post-graduates per year.
Those who graduated in Russia will become the core workforce of Vietnam, he said.
He also asked the Russian side to create more favorable conditions for Vietnamese students in the host country.
For her part, Olga Yurevna Vasylieva asserted that her ministry will promote coordination with Vietnam to enhance training quality.
Russia will increase scholarships for Vietnamese students to 953 in 2018, 93 more than the number granted in 2017, she added.
