Vietnam, France boost cooperation in cancer treatment
PANO - The first Vietnam-France conference on cancer took place in Ho Chi Minh City on November 18, gathering various leading cancer experts and doctors from France and Ho Chi Minh City.
The event was jointly held by the Ho Chi Minh City-based Xuyen A General Hospital and France’s Grenoble University Hospital.
Scientific reports delivered at the meeting concentrated on the real situation of cancer in Vietnam and advanced cancer treatment applied in France, other cancer-related ultrasound, operation, as well as various medical therapies of cancers and other cancer symptoms.
Experts from Grenoble University Hospital introduced the newest and most effective techniques in treatment for breast, liver and lung cancers as well as typical surgery technologies.
At the meeting, the participants exchanged experiences and discussed measures to transfer the newest cancer treatment techniques to the Vietnamese side.
In the framework of the conference, the Vietnamese hospital asked the French partner to support it in expertise improvement, aiming at realizing its target of building a big cancer treatment center in Cu Chi district, Ho Chi Minh City, to meet the growing demand for cancer treatment in Vietnam and reduce the burden on hospitals in the South.
