Through the program, Vietnamese families volunteered to sponsor Cambodian students so as to facilitate their study in Vietnam and create favorable conditions for them to learn more about the Vietnamese people and culture.

The sponsoring activities have contributed to the development of the traditional solidarity, friendship, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia.

Since the launch of the program in 2012, the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association has received considerable assistance and support from various agencies and organizations, including the Cambodian Embassy in Vietnam. Such support has served as a valuable material and spiritual encouragement source for Cambodian students living and studying in Vietnam, concluded Mao.

Meanwhile, Charge d'affaires of the Cambodian Embassy in Vietnam Op Sophy expressed his sincere thanks to the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association and Vietnamese sponsor families for their care for Cambodian students. He underlined the increasing development of the traditional relations between Cambodia and Vietnam in various fields, such as delegation exchanges and experience sharing at all levels.
