The Secretary General made the statement while hosting a delegation from the Communist Review, a magazine of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, led by its Deputy Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Ngoc Ha.

In his remarks, Ha conveyed the deep admiration of the Vietnamese people, Party, and Government for Algeria's long-standing tradition of struggle for national liberation. He praised the country’s recent achievements, especially in raising its international stature, both globally and regionally, and affirmed that Vietnam is proud to have a longstanding friend and comrade of Algeria.
Benmbarek stressed that Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune places great importance on fostering the bilateral ties, viewing this as a new impetus to elevate relations in all areas. He also affirmed that Algerian war veterans highly value their relationship with Vietnam and stressed the importance of maintaining and developing this close friendship for future generations.
The Vietnamese official shared his agreement with the FLN Secretary-General, noting that the two countries have a strong foundation of historical ties and that it is crucial to preserve and pass on these values to future generations.
Earlier, on October 27, the Communist Review delegation held a working session with Algerian Minister of Mujahideen (Veterans) and Rights Holders Abdelmalek Tacherift, during which Ha expressed his joy at seeing both countries achieve significant progress in national development, particularly Algeria’s rising influence in Africa.
He praised Algeria’s policies for veterans and the remarkable efforts to educate younger generations about the revolutionary spirit, and preserving traditional values, and advancing the nation. He noted that Algeria's experiences and methods in this work are highly valuable for Vietnam to study and learn from.
Ha said that Vietnam, which has also experienced long periods of war, faces significant challenges regarding the welfare of veterans. He shared the country's ongoing efforts to improve living conditions for veterans, and affirmed that with improved conditions and a greater focus on international experiences, it will continue to enhance its policies towards this group in the future.
