Kenya wants to foster cooperation with Vietnam
President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya wants to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam for the benefit of the two nations’ people.
He
expressed his hope at a reception in Nairobi on September 26 for Vietnamese
Ambassador to Tanzania and Kenya Nguyen Kim Doanh who came to present
credentials.

For
his part, Doanh expressed his willingness to contribute to boosting the
multi-faceted relations between Vietnam and Kenya during his term.
During
his working session with the Heads of the Asia – Australia Department and the
Protocol Department of the Foreign Ministry, Doanh underlined the stable
development of the two nations’ relations over the past 22 years.
The
Nairobi – Hanoi direct flight route launched by Kenya Airways in April, 2015
has contributed to strengthening tourism and trade cooperation between the two
nations, he added.
The
Head of the Asia – Australia Department highlighted the fruitful cooperation
between the two nations, saying that it laid down a favorable foundation for
further boosting the bilateral ties, particularly in trade, sea freighting, and
aviation.
He
suggested the two nations strengthen delegation exchanges at all levels in the
coming time, thus promoting the diplomatic ties and creating a momentum for
development and deeper relations.
Doanh
also took the occasion to call on Kenya to support Vietnam’s a candidate for
the post of General-Director of the United
Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
