Japan shares experience in operating land registration system
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment’s General Department of Land Administration (GDLA) held a seminar in Hanoi on March 15 to discuss Japan’s experience in operating land registration system.
GDLA Deputy General Director Mai Van Phan said the event is one of the important activities of the Land Law working group within the seventh phase of the Vietnam – Japan Joint Initiative, which aims to improve business environment and serve as a bridge for Japanese investors in Vietnam, contributing to developing bilateral strategic partnership in diverse areas.

The action plan for the seventh phase features 10 issues, including those in the Land Law, real estate registration and information disclosure.
Second Secretary at the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam Takuya Kudo said disclosure of land transactions and ownership rights will improve competitiveness of Vietnam’s manufacturing industries.
Japanese representatives briefed participants of property registration in their country, its land administrative management and economic impact, and analysis of economic efficiency of land registration using Japanese technology in Vietnam.
Vietnamese delegates talked about orientations on amendments to the Land Law in the country.
Several opinions suggested that Vietnam should consolidate its land registration office system, diversify investment to develop national land information system and refine legal framework in the effort.
