He said Hanoi is calling for foreign investment in constructing waste treatment plants in Ba Vi, Soc Son and Chuong My districts.
The city plans to mechanise collection of waste in all districts across the city in January next year, and strives to put waste treatment plants in the three mentioned-above districts into operation by 2020, he revealed.
He added that Hanoi is working hard to dredge canals and treat environmental pollution in rivers and lakes, and improve clean water supply systems.
For his part, Thomas Loid proposed future cooperation orientations, expressing his hope that the cooperation between Hanoi and Austrian investors will develop strongly in the coming time.
