The visiting Georgian diplomat stated that at a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son at the headquarters of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on November 10.

At the meeting, FM Son emphasized that two countries still have huge potential for cooperation in such fields as economy-trade, investment, education-training, culture, sports, and tourism. He suggested the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs work together to promote all-level delegation exchange and close coordination at international and regional forums. 

The same day, Deputy FM Le Thi Thu Hang and her Georgian counterpart Alexander Khvtisiashvili co-chaired the second political consultation between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs.

Deputy FM Hang said that economic cooperation between Vietnam and Georgia is still modest and yet to be on par with their potential. She suggested the two sides coordinate to implement measures to bolster trade cooperation and connection between the two countries’ enterprises. She also recommended further improvement of related legal frameworks, and expansion of partnership in potential areas, particularly tourism and agriculture.

The Georgian Deputy FM noted that Georgian enterprises are ready to partner with their Vietnamese peers to set up joint ventures to produce consumer goods that the two nations have strengths to export to a third country.

He suggested the two side take advantage of their strategic geographical location to strengthen cooperation in infrastructure, transportation, and logistics, among others.
