PANO – A Georgian diplomatic delegation led by Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister D. Jalagania began a working visit to Vietnam from March 6th to 9th.
During the visit, the delegation paid a courtesy call to Vietnamese Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, had a political consultation at the deputy minister level with a Vietnamese delegation led by Deputy Defence Minister Bui Thanh Son and worked with leaders of the Vietnamese Trade and Industry Ministry and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
At the meetings, the two sides exchanged information about the situations of each country and discussed issues of mutual concern.
The visiting Deputy Foreign Minister confirmed that Georgia always attached importance to relations with Vietnam and that it hoped to further cement and boost the traditional friendly ties between the two nations.
The two sides focused on discussing measures to promote cooperation in economics, trade, education and training; agreed to step up negotiations in order to reach agreements on customs and double taxation avoidance; and exchanged opinions on some regional and international issues and ideas to further coordinate with each other at international forums and enhance cooperation between the two foreign ministries.
