The two sides will also discuss regional and international issues of shared concern.
Following the talks, the two sides will sign an Action Program to implement the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
Minh will also meet senior leaders of India as well as local business community, and attend and deliver a speech at the ninth Delhi Dialogue on July 4-5.
The visit aims to implement the Party’s external policy of deepening international relations, strengthening partnerships, especially with strategic partners and major powers, while affirming Vietnam’s interest in developing the Vietnam-India comprehensive strategic partnership, said Ambassador Thanh.
The diplomat said that Deputy PM Minh’s India visit is among activities to mark the 45th anniversary of Vietnam-India diplomatic ties and 25 years of establishing the ASEAN-India dialogue partnership, as Vietnam is the coordinator of ASEAN-India relations for 2015-2018.
Over the past 45 years, Vietnam and India have seen strong progress in ties. They set up a strategic partnership in 2007 which was lifted to a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2016.
The two countries are enjoying flourishing ties, with close cooperation in all fields, stated the ambassador.
Trade between the two countries has boomed recently. Vietnamese carrier Vietjet Air will launch a direct route linking Ho Chi Minh City and New Delhi soon, he noted.
In the future, the two sides should further foster their affiliation for more comprehensive development of bilateral ties, he concluded.
