Representing the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense was Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, Deputy Minister of National Defense. Also present were representatives of Vietnamese ministries, sectors, and localities, friendship figures, businesses, and students from both Vietnam and China.

Speaking at the banquet, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized that over the past 76 years, the two Parties, two States, and peoples of the two countries have stood shoulder to shoulder, providing each other with great and invaluable support and assistance. This cooperation has contributed significantly to the success of the revolutionary causes and socialist construction in both countries.

He reaffirmed that the Party, State, and people of Vietnam consistently regard the development of relations with China as a strategic choice and a top priority in Vietnam’s foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization, and diversification.

Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son highly appreciated the achievements of the Vietnam–China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, noting particularly stronger political trust, more substantive defense and security cooperation, rapidly expanding economic, trade, and investment ties, and increasingly vibrant people-to-people exchanges.

Highlighting the special significance of 2026 for both countries, when Vietnam will hold the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, marking its official entry into a new development era, and China will begin implementing its 15th Five-Year Plan aimed at high-quality development, he expressed confidence that, under the guidance of senior leaders and with the determination of all sectors, localities, and peoples of both countries, Vietnam–China relations will continue to deepen in a stable and sustainable manner, for the happiness of the two peoples and for peace and progress of humanity.

Sharing reflections on the long-standing history of China–Vietnam friendship, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei praised the important achievements attained by the two Parties and countries over the past 76 years.

He noted that in 2025, the two sides coordinated closely to create many highlights in bilateral relations, including frequent high-level mutual visits, effective implementation of cooperation mechanisms, record-breaking trade turnover, and China’s continued position as Vietnam’s largest trading partner and source of tourists.

Ambassador He Wei emphasized China’s readiness to work with Vietnam in solidarity and cooperation to continuously promote and consolidate the foundation of bilateral ties and enhance the effectiveness of building a China–Vietnam community with a shared future.

He also extended congratulations and expressed firm confidence that the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam will be a great success, opening a new era of national development for Vietnam and ushering in a new, positive chapter in China–Vietnam friendship.
