Reference exchange rate up by VND 5 on May 2
The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at VND 23,033 per USD on the morning of May 2, up by VND 5 from the day earlier.
With the current trading band of +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate applied by commercial banks for the day is VND 23,724 per USD and the floor rate is VND 22,342 per USD.

Commercial banks continued to adjust their rates up.
At 8:15, Vietcombank posted the buying rate at VND 23,230 per USD and the selling rate at VND 23,330 per USD, unchanged for days.
BIDV also offered the rates at VND 23,230 - 23,330 per USD, unchanged from last week.
Techcombank did not change it rates, posting VND 23,210 per USD (buying) and VND 23,330 per USD (selling).
