As reported by  HASME, Hanoi saw the establishment of 23,000 new businesses in 2016 with total capital of VND 203 billion, an increase of 42% compared to last year, bringing the total number of businesses in Hanoi to more than 200,000. The enterprises, operating in various fields, contributed to creating jobs for nearly 2 million workers, reducing the city’s unemployment rate and improving local people's living standards.

Additionally, in 2016 alone, the association launched effectively a number of activities, such as the “Vietnamese people using Vietnamese goods” campaign, and the “Most favorite Vietnamese products” Award; and worked with other associations in different provinces and cities to implement 15 investment promotion programs and attract hundreds of businesses to invest in industrial parks in Hanoi.

Notably, the association carried out numerous gratitude activities in the Central region and Ha Giang province, like presenting breeding cattle, and gifts to needy households, and policy beneficiaries.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of HASME Mac Quoc Anh said that the program was an opportunity for local enterprises to exchange experiences, seek business opportunities, and promote development of HASME.

Also at the event, two businesses were awarded the third class Labour Orders while two others received the Prime Minister’s certificates of merit.
