The award is to realize the Prime Minister’s Directive No.1, issued on January 14, 2020, on developing Vietnamese digital businesses. This is also an activity of the annual national forum on the development of Vietnamese digital businesses.
The award aims to encourage digital businesses to further study and create more digital products that solve Vietnamese issues. It also honors outstanding digital products that contribute to developing a digital government, digital economy, digital society, and creating a digital nation. Besides, it partly popularizes “make-in-Vietnam” digital products among Vietnamese businesses and people.
Products will be publicly and transparently assessed, based on the two criteria of being designed and created in Vietnam and solving Vietnamese issues.
The five award categories include outstanding digital platforms, excellent digital products, excellent digital solutions, bridging of digital divides, and potential digital products.
All businesses with business licenses and digital products created in Vietnam and applied to solve Vietnamese issues are eligible to compete for the awards.
Entries should be submitted online at makeinvietnam.mic.gov.vn by October 20, 2020.
The jury board, headed by Dr. Mai Liem Truc, former Deputy Minister of MIC, will include experts in digital technologies, scientists, representatives from investment funds, and experienced information and communication technology (ICT) journalists.
The awarded products are allowed to compete at national and international-level contests and advertise on mass media.
Addressing the press conference, MIC Minister Nguyen Manh Hung said that MIC will accompany businesses in popularizing and connecting with domestic and international investors and markets, and building a favorable legal framework to further develop digital products.
