The Kien Giang People’s Committee has instantly approved an irrigation project for the aquiculture of Vam Rang-Ba Hon (Hon Dat district, Kien Giang province).

Accordingly, the project will be carried out on an area of nearly 300ha at the total cost of nearly 200 billion VND, 189.5 billion VND of which will be mobilised from Government bonds and nearly 9 billion VND will be contributed by people.

The Vam Rang-Ba Hon irrigation system will not only ensure water for production but also protect soil from erosion

In addition, the system will help reduce the flood level by draining off water into the sea. The work will be the first irrigation system in the Long Xuyen Quadrangle designed for large-scale production operating as a closed cycle.
