Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh speaks at the event

Binh made the request at the 13th meeting of the steering committee for dealing with some poor-performing projects and businesses of the industry and trade sector, held on December 25.

He spoke highly of the committee’s efforts in addressing the most complicated issues related to 12 poor-performing projects and firms.

Three projects, including DAP-1 Hai Phong fertiliser factory, Phu Tho biofuel factory and Binh Phuoc biofuel factory, were removed from the watch list, while bottlenecks at the Dung Quat Shipbuilding Industry Company were cleared.

He also urged the Committee for Management of State Capital at Enterprises (CMSC) and relevant agencies to promptly carry out assigned tasks to ensure their progress.

The agencies were asked to define solutions to each project in keeping with guidelines of the Politburo and the market mechanism.

Binh assigned the CMSC, the Ministry of Finance and the State Bank of Vietnam to work with the Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem), commercial banks and other agencies to devise solutions to problems at three projects of the Vinachem so as to report to the committee next January.
