Association of Vietnamese motorbike manufacturers debuts

PANO – The Vietnam Association of Motorbike Manufacturers (VAMM), with 5 members of Honda Vietnam Co., Piaggio Vietnam Co. Ltd., Suzuki Vietnam Co. Ltd., SYM Vietnam Co. and Yamaha Motor Vietnam Co. Ltd., officially came into being in Hanoi on February 19th.
According to Mr. Masayuki Igarashi, VAMM’s President cum General Director of the Honda Vietnam Company, the association will serve as the protector of its members and at the same time as a forum for them to share advanced technologies for high quality products in accordance with the competitive motorbike manufacturing environment.
The association will also contribute to the development of Vietnam’s motorbike industry, the world's fourth largest motorbike market after India, China and Indonesia.
At present, VAMM’s 5 member companies make up 96% of the domestic motorbike market and account for 3.5% of Vietnam’s GDP.
