Viettel Telecom partners with IPification to promote secure mobile authentication
PANO – Within the framework of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 in Spain, Viettel Telecom and IPification, a mobile authentication solution provider used by many global technology and financial corporations, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to cooperate in deploying next-generation secure mobile authentication standards for Viettel subscribers.
Under their agreement, Viettel Telecom and IPification will develop authentication using network signals and SIM identity. This allows users to verify transactions via mobile connectivity, bypassing passwords and SMS OTPs. The solution fast-tracks logins while mitigating fraud, SIM swaps, and identity spoofing through real-time network analysis.

Currently, both parties are building this system on 4G/5G platforms. By Q2 2026, Viettel plans to complete a GSMA-compliant (TS.43) WiFi authentication solution, allowing SIM-based verification over WiFi. This will be integrated for banking and Fintech partners, leveraging Viettel’s infrastructure to provide digital authentication for the financial ecosystem.
At MWC 2026, Viettel Telecom also signed agreements to deploy CAMARA-standard Network API solutions with international partners. According to the GSMA, MWC 2026 hosted 95,000 delegates and 2,400 companies, highlighting digital identity and passwordless security. The GSMA warns that traditional SMS OTPs are increasingly vulnerable to theft.
Gartner forecasts over 60% of global enterprises will adopt passwordless methods by 2027, as the FIDO Alliance promotes standards to reduce phishing. Consequently, network-based authentication is gaining global traction. The Viettel Telecom and IPification partnership is expected to scale these technologies across Vietnam’s digital banking, Fintech, and e-wallet sectors.
