Logistics is an important sector in the national economy as it constitutes one of the input costs for production. According to the Vietnam Logistics Business Association, the growth rate of Vietnam’s logistics sector reached 14 -16% in recent years. At present, there are about 3,000 domestic businesses and 25 top international logistics groups operating in the sector. In the near future, the logistics service will serve as an important economic sector, contributing to 15% to the nation’s GDP.

As for Viettel Post, its logistics service not only is an important part of its development strategy, but also contributes to improving the effectiveness of the logistics activities for the whole economy. For the development of its logistics operation in 2020, Viettel Post has proposed to build shared logistics infrastructure for the whole economy in order to save resources like vehicles, storages and deports, etc.

That e-commerce is blooming in Vietnam has made the application of digital technologies to logistics operation an important factor. Viettel has put into operation the automatic classification and selection line to shorten delivery time. In 2019, the company debuted the app. MyGo for immediate and near delivery. In the coming time, Viettel Post will boost its outsourcing activities regarding transportation by truck to improve its capacity and effectiveness of this type of transportation.

Apart from connection and transportation, its storage and depot system plays an important part. As a company with branches nationwide, Viettel Post needs to focus on optimizing its storage capacity and deport system in 2020, especially by the application of smart technologies.

According to Vietnam Report, Viettel Post was rated as the most prestigious transportation and logistics company in 2019 in terms of storage and delivery. Viettel pledges to build a “digital Vietnam” by undertaking the leading role in building the shared infrastructure for logistics. It realizes that reinvestment must target not only technologies but also infrastructure for sustainable development, said Tran Trung Hung, Director General of Viettel Post.
