Viettel's branch in Myanmar strives to bring a happy life to the people.

Currently, with 13 million consumers, Mytel has the largest market share for mobile services in Myanmar. Furthermore, it covers nearly 90% of the population in the Southeast Asian country, making it the operator with the best and largest 4G coverage. With a 40% cheaper cost, Mytel has assisted in raising the percentage of high-speed mobile customers in Myanmar from 16% to 88%.

In addition to its efforts in providing telecommunications services, Mytel has built a comprehensive digital eco-system, namely digital infrastructure, digital finance, digital contents, digital solutions, and network security, including Myanmar’s largest service SuperApp MyID with 24 million users, accounting for nearly half of the country’s population.

Meanwhile, MytelPay e-wallet has helped increase the percentage of digital payments from 3.6% in 2019 to 10% in 2023. Currently, MytelPay has three million monthly users.

Mytel has also contributed more than USD 6 million to social activities. Reportedly, it has provided Fiber-optic internet for more than 630 schools, while its Empower My Children Fund has been established, aiming to bring healthy lives to disadvantaged children in the country. The fund has supported surgery cost for children with congenital heart disease and those with the Down syndrome.

Mytel’s Director Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung reaffirmed that during its operation in Myanmar, the company would continue to support locals through investment in technology so that each family and business can develop sustainably, for the benefit of the people and country.

Myanmar is Viettel’s tenth market aboard and becomes the market with the largest scope and the highest population.

MytelPay has three million monthly users.

After a year of infrastructure construction, Mytel is ranked the country’s first mobile network to offer 4G services, contributing to upgrading Myanmar’s telecommunications infrastructure. With 4G technology, Mytel provides a digital eco-system, including VAS services and IT solutions, making Myanmar a digital country.

Mytel is also the first mobile operator to introduce 5G technology to Myanmar in August 2019.
