PANO - Queen Máxima of the Netherlands visited several farmers and businesses on May 30 in Lam Dong province in her role as the UN Secretary-General's Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development.

These agricultural enterprises were the participants of the "Horti Da Lat" project, supported by the Rabobank Foundation from the Netherlands and Fresh Studio - a consulting firm with its office in Vietnam in order to provide financing and technical supports to farmers and businesses in the field of agricultural production.
Queen Máxima expressed her pleasure to know that the project has been promoting many practical effects. Accordingly, farmers received loans for the construction of greenhouses, counseling on how to improve yields, and help in setting up a business plan. This project also linked farmers with retailers and gave participants a more secure market for their products and a fixed income.
She also hoped that the partners would continue supporting the project so that farmers and businesses in Vietnam have more opportunities to access and benefit from these support in the coming time.
