Viettel FC enters quarterfinal of National Cup 2023
PANO - Viettel FC defeated its rival Hanoi FC 2-1 in the round of 16 of the National Cup 2023 on July 6 at Hang Day stadium in Hanoi.
In the 13th minute, the goal of central midfielder Hoang Duc helped Viettel FC take the 1-0 lead. However, Hanoi FC’s forward Tuan Hai equalized the score by 1-1 against the rival in the 30th minute.

Viettel FC entered the second half with high determination. In the 77th minute, forward Jeferson brought home the second goal for Viettel FC. The match ended with a 2-1 victory for Viettel FC.
In the previous matches, Topenland Binh Dinh FC beat Quang Nam FC in a gripping penalty shoot-out while Hong Linh Ha Tinh FC won against Long An FC 3-1, and Dong A Thanh Hoa trounced Ba Ria - Vung Tau 4-0.
As a result, four football clubs entering in the quarterfinal of National Cup 2023 are Viettel, Topenland Binh Dinh, Hong Linh Ha Tinh and Dong A Thanh Hoa.
