“We are eager to take part in the tournament. We aren’t afraid of facing any rivals. We will try our best in each game,” said Nguyen.
“We have to be very good to reach the final rounds. Self-confidence is very important. We look forward to joining the party in Viersen,’’ Nguyen added.
Billiards player Chien was also confident, saying, “During Vietnam’s Lunar New Year, we trained and coordinated with each other very well. We hope that we will have a good start this year”.
Vietnam are in Group C, alongside the Republic of Korea (RoK), Denmark and Greece. Vietnam will first meet the RoK with two strong players: world No.12 Choi Sung-won and world No 17 Kang Dong-koong.
The winners will walk away with a prize of USD 9,800, while runners-up will receive USD 7,400, and third and fourth place winners will be awarded a bonus of USD 4,400.
