Vietnamese athletes to compete in seventh CISM Military World Games
PANO – The Vietnamese delegation has registered to compete in seven out of 31 sports events in the seventh International Military Sports Council (CISM) Military World Games in Wuhan, China, from October 18 to 30.
The Vietnamese athletes will compete in track and field, gymnastics, shooting, wrestling, boxing, tennis, and swimming.
This year’s event attracts the participation of 110 delegations and 4,000 athletes coming from different countries all around the world. Among the participants, many have previously won medals at world, European, and Asian championship events. Vietnam targets to win silver and bronze medals.

On October 15, the Vietnamese delegation arrived at the sports village for athletes in Wuhan. They then participated in a flag-hoisting ceremony hosted by the Organizing Panel of the seventh CISM Military World Games for participating countries on the following day.
According to Senior Colonel Bui Hong Quang, Deputy Director of the Department of Military Training of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and deputy head of the Vietnamese delegation, the athletes have settled down and are ready for the competitions.
On the morning of October 16, the Vietnamese wrestling, track and field, and boxing teams started practicing to make preparations for the games.
