Vietnam wins first-ever Asian cycling gold for women
PANO - Vietnam’s top cyclist Nguyen Thi That won a gold medal at the Asian Road and Para Cycling Championship in Myanmar on February 11.
This was the first-ever time for a Vietnamese female cyclist to win the gold medal at a continental competition.

She fought off stiff competition from 26 rivals, including cyclists from China, Japan and the Republic of Korea, to win the women’s 106km road race with a time of 3 hours 11 minutes 59 seconds.
She was followed by two Chinese Taipei’s cyclists, Huang Tung Ying and Chang Yao.
Previously, she bagged a silver medal at the Asian Games in 2014, and a double title during last year’s Southeast Asian Games.
