Vietnam bags two more medals at World Para Swimming Championships
Vietnam earned one silver and one bronze medals in the women’s and men’s 100m breaststroke SB5 at the World Para Swimming Championships 2017 in Mexico City on December 3.
In the women’s 100m breaststroke SB5, Trinh Thi Bich Nhu pocketed the silver medal with a time of 1’57”66. She also won a silver at the Rio Paralympics 2016.
Vietnamese swimmers Do Thanh Hai and Trinh Thi Bich Nhu bag one bronze and one silver medals at the World Para Swimming Championships 2017.
Meanwhile, Do Thanh Hai earned his first bronze medal in men’s 100m breaststroke SB5 at the world swimming event, clocking 1’42”58.
In the first two days of the event, the Vietnamese team bagged a total of three medals, including one silver and two bronzes. On December 2, Vo Thanh Tung brought home the first bronze in the men’s 100m freestyle-S5.
Five Vietnamese swimmers, namely Vo Thanh Tung, Nguyen Thanh Trung, Trinh Thi Bich Nhu, Tran Quoc Phi and Do Thanh Hai are participating in the World Para Swimming Championships 2017.
The event has drawn athletes from 57 countries around the world.
The World Para Power-lifting Championships is also underway in Mexico City. Six Vietnamese athletes will vie for medals in the men’s 49k, 54kg, 59kg, and 65kg categories and the women’s 50kg and 55kg categories.
