According to Deputy Director of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training Le Thi Hoang Yen, SEA Games 31 will be held in Hanoi and 11 neighboring localities from May 12 to 23. It will feature 40 sports with 526 competition events and attract around 10,000 participants from 11 Southeast Asian countries.

She added that, the logo, mascot and slogan for SEA Games 31 have been approved, the official song for the event has been submitted to the organizing board.

Currently, the subcommittee is stepping up the preparation for the SEA Games 31 International Media Conference, which will take place on February 25 in Hanoi.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Pham Anh Tuan required the subcommittee’s members to heighten their responsibilities to accomplish all assigned missions while focusing on building concrete plans to ensure the successful organization of the upcoming event.

In addition, during the implementation, the subcommittee should quickly inform higher levels to deal with arising problems in a timely manner.

The success of SEA Games 31 will contribute to enhancing the position and image of Vietnam and its people in Southeast Asia and the world, he underlined.
