Olympic Run Day to improve people’s health
PANO – Around 7,000 people participated in the Olympic Run Day for Public Health 2017 on March 26 at the Ly Thai To Park in Hanoi, as part of activities to celebrate the 71st Vietnam Sports Day.

During the event, the participants, including leaders, staff, coaches, trainees, artists from Vietnam’s General Department of Sports and local people, ran around Hoan Kiem Lake and enjoyed impressive traditional martial arts performances and stiff competitions of tug-of-war between 20 teams.
Addressing the run, Ngo Van Quy, Deputy Chairman of the Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee, said that the event aimed to preserve and promote President Ho Chi Minh’s call for doing physical exercise for better health.
The same day, the city also launched the 44th Hanoimoi Newspaper Run for Peace. These two events were in an effort to promote sport movements in the city to improve people’s fitness, build a healthy lifestyle as well as strengthen solidarity among people.
