Motorbike race first held in Hanoi
PANO - The Vietnam Motor-Bicycle Sports Federation, in cooperation with the Hanoi municipal Department of Culture and Sports, opened the second stage of the Vietnam Motor Racing Championship 2019 at My Dinh National Stadium Square on May 25.
Addressing the event, Major General Pham Van Huan, Editor-in-chief of the People’s Army Newpaper and President of the Vietnam Cycling and Motor Sport Federation, reviewed the dramatic development of motor racing movements in Vietnam and highly appreciated sponsors for their contributions to this championship. The general stressed that it was the first time Hanoi had hosted a motorbike race so far.
After the opening ceremony, racers competed in four categories of Blade 110, MSX 125, Winner 150 and UB 130. The four winners in the contents were respectively Nguyen Duc Thanh from Dong Nai team, Pham Thanh Bao and Le Hung Huu Tin from Binh Duong team, and Le Khanh Loc from Loc Binh Honda team.
This year’s tournament attracts 52 top racers nationwide to compete in six stages. The first three winners in each stage will pocket 16, 13, and 11 points, respectively.
The first stage was held at 2K International Circuit in Binh Duong province in April. The last four stages will take place in Binh Duong on June 16, in Nha Trang on July 20, in Long An on October 13 and in Binh Duong in December 14.
After six stages, the racer with the highest points will become the champion.
