A trophy-awarding ceremony was held on the evening of the same day at Ana Marina in Nha Trang city of Khanh Hoa province by VinaCapital and California Management Group (CMG.ASIA).
The race, conducted for the eighth time, started at Victoria Port in Hong Kong (China) on October 17 and saw the participation of 13 teams with more than 170 crew members from the UK, Italy, China, Russia, Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong (China).
The first prize went to Mascalzone Latino of Italy, followed by Ambush and Freefire, both from Hong Kong.
Launched in 2004, this tournament, organized by the Hong Kong Royal Yacht Club, VinaCapital, and other partners, aims to promote tourism in the coastal city of Nha Trang and encourage yacht racing as a sport.
Randy Dobson, Chairman of CMG.ASIA said Vietnam has a beautiful coastline, and is seen as an ideal destination for many international boat races, and suggested Vietnamese localities replicate similar competitions to other Vietnamese coastal cities.
Meanwhile, Don Lam, VinaCapital’s CEO, hoped that the race would introduce Central Vietnam, with its wonderful beaches, clean environment and unique culture, to international tourists.
