In Ho Chi Minh City, tens of thousands of residents took to the streets to celebrate the Vietnamese national team's victory. From the city center to suburban areas, roads came alive with excitement, echoing with a symphony of drums, horns, and even the clanging of pans and pots as fans reveled in the triumph. Others chose to stand in front of their houses to join in the festivities, cheering along with the passing groups of supporters.

Despite the large crowds, most participants adhered to traffic rules, and police forces worked at full capacity to ensure safety throughout the celebrations.

In Hanoi capital city, all the streets leading into the city center were packed with fans, regardless of their gender and age.

Nguyen Thu Trang, a fan from Nam Tu Liem district, excitedly waving a national flag, said football fans in the capital are ‘awake’ along with tens of millions across the country to celebrate Coach Kim Sang Sik and his team's victory. Calling the match an emotional "football feast," she praised the Vietnamese players for their courage and held that the triumph over Thailand was truly well-deserved.

The festive atmosphere also covered streets in other provinces and cities across Vietnam, with fans cheering, waving flags, and shouting "Vietnam are the champions!".

Vietnam won 3-2 over Thailand in the second leg of the 2024 ASEAN Championship final.

With a 5-3 aggregate victory at the final, Vietnam lifted ASEAN Cup trophy – the third of its kind after the ones in 2008 and 2018.
