The people-to-people diplomatic event will be organized by the Vietnam-India Friendship Association, the VBS and the India Embassy in Vietnam.

It aims to celebrate 45 years of diplomatic ties (January 7, 1972 - 2017) and 10 years of comprehensive strategic partnership (2007-2017) between the two countries.

According to Most Venerable Thich Duc Thien, the culture day will feature ceremonies performed by Gyalwang Drukpa, Head of the Drukpa Lineage, and nearly 100 Buddhist monks and nuns from India.

On the occasion, Gyalwang Drukpa will present the VBS a needle painting of Bodhisattva, embroidered by 40 artisans. The painting is 11.7 meters wide and 16 meters long.

The first India Buddhism culture day took place at Phat Tich Pagoda in Tien Du district in the northern province of Bac Ninh in 2014.
