PANO – The Vietnamese women’s football team romped to a 14-0 win over the Indonesian team on October 20th in the last round-robin match of the Group A in the on-going 2011 ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Women’s Championship in Laos.
As the Indonesian team was underrated, the Vietnamese team’s coach Chen Yun Fat sent the second formation to the match in order to keep major players in good form for upcoming important matches.
As anticipated, Vietnamese players controlled the match to score 14 goals, including a hat-trick by two players Le Thu Thanh Huong and Tuyet Dung.
In another match at the Chao Anouvong Stadium on the same day, the host Lao team also beat the Singaporean team by 5-0.
With three wins, the Vietnamese team tops the Group, followed by Laos. The two teams will advance to the semi-final round on October 23rd at the Lao National Stadium.
In Group B, the Thailand and Myanmar teams have the same 6 points to top the Group and will also advance to the next round.
