The novel, “Cô gái đến từ hôm qua” (The girl coming from yesterday), written by Nguyen Nhat Anh and published in 1995 by the Youth Publishing House, Vietnam, has just been selected as training material at Moscow University, Russia.

Earlier, Associate Professor of Vietnamese language, Doctor Maxim Syunnerberg, the author of a Russian-Vietnamese dictionary published in 2008, had proposed the idea.

The piece is organised by the university into 16 chapters to teach Russian students of Vietnamese language over 16 weeks.   

The students will study the novel in both Vietnamese and Russian.

Nguyen Nhat Anh is a famous writer in Vietnam. Recently on the first days of the year, the Thai Publishing House of Nanmee Books, asked the writer to sell the publishing rights of another piece of his named, “Cho tôi xin một vé đi tuổi thơ” (Give me a fare to visit the childhood), to be translated into Thai.

Under the schedule, the Thai version will be introduced to the public in August 2011 and it will be translated by Doctor Montira Rato, who successfully translated Dang Thuy Tram’s Diary into Thai.
