The event was attended by Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court of Vietnam Nguyen Hoa Binh, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, and delegates from agencies of the Ministry of National Defense and the GDP.

At the handover ceremony, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court of Vietnam Nguyen Hoa Binh, on behalf of his families, handed over a pair of brass candlesticks related to the revolutionary career of his brother, Hero of the People’s Armed Forces martyr Nguyen Kim Vang.

On January 26, 1972, Nguyen Kim Vang was ambushed by the enemy while carrying out a mission with his comrades and died near a revolutionary base in Lien Tri village, Binh Kien commune, Tuy Hoa town (present Tuy Hoa city), Phu Yen province. In the house where Nguyen Kim Vang died, people found a pair of brass candlesticks and presented them to his families.

On the occasion of the 132nd birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - 2022), the fallen soldier’s family decided to present the brass candlesticks and other valuable artifacts related to martyr Nguyen Kim Vang to the museum.

Speaking at the event, Director Colonel of the Vietnam Museum of Military History Colonel Le Vu Huy thanked Binh’s family for carefully keeping the artifacts and and presenting them to the museum. He affirmed that the museum will preserve and exhibit the artifacts, contributing to popularizing the national tradition to both domestic and international visitors.

After the ceremony, Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court of Vietnam Nguyen Hoa Binh, and delegates toured the museum.

On visiting the  space displaying exhibits related to the Winter Spring Offensive 1953-1954 in the resistance war against French colonialists, delegates wrote down their feelings in the museum’s notebook.
