The title went to star player Haeng Jik Kim, 23, of the RoK, who beat all well-known players from the RoK, Vietnam and Japan.
Kim took his first major championship as a senior after winning four junior world titles. In the final, he defeated compatriot Cho 40-29.
Eleven Vietnamese players took part in the tournament, which also serves as a qualification tournament for the 2015 Three-Cushion World Cup, slated to take place in Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City later this year.
