Traditional Cultural Festival to honour Nguyen Dinh Chieu

PANO – The 19^th traditional cultural festival to honour the life and career of poet, doctor and patriot Nguyen Dinh Chieu, as well as to educate local people about patriotism, took place in Ben Tre Province from June 30^th to July 2^nd.

During the three-day festival, visitors participated in “Don ca tai tu” Festival (a genre of folk music which developed and spread mainly in Southern Vietnam) with the participation of more than 100 artisans, a trade fair and exhibition on Ben Tre economic achievement as well as playing traditional games.

Also on the occasion, Ben Tre Province held a ceremony to celebrate the 189^th anniversary of the birth of Nguyen Dinh Chieu (July 1^st 1822) and the 123^rd anniversary of his death (July 3^rd 1888).
