Traditional costumes to be introduced at Ben Tre Coconut Festival

Beauties in “Ao ba ba”

According to the panel, the festival will be held annually to honor the beauty of the traditional costumes of women in the South and popularize the image of Ben Tre in particular and Southwestern localities in general. The activity is also expected to encourage people to wear the costumes. 

Apart from the “Ao ba ba” introduction, the fifth Ben Tre Coconut Festival will also feature a beauty contest, in which contestants will wear “Ao ba ba.” The new content will affirm not only the value of the traditional costumes of Southern Vietnamese women, but also their cultural beauty. 

The 2019 Ben Tre Coconut Festival will run from November 16 to 20.
