Thang Long Royal Citadel recognized as a world heritage
The UNESCO Director General will present a certificate to recognize the Thang Long Royal Citadel as a world heritage on the occasion of the 1,000th Thang Long – Hanoi anniversary, according to the Head of UNESCO’s representative office in Hanoi.

Under the schedule, the Director General will arrive in Hanoi on October 1st, Katherine Muller Marin, UNESCO Chief Representative in Vietnam, revealed at the music and art festival “Sounds of the city of peace” on September 18th.
The art and music program held by the UNESCO representative's office and Hanoi authorities was one of the numerous and various activities and events held in the Vietnamese capital city as well as other localities across the country to celebrate the 1,000th Thang Long – Hanoi foundation.
A number of UNESCO officials will also participate in the celebration on Vietnam’s invitation and under the resolution that was approved at the 35th UNESCO General Assembly in 2009 with the participation of 193 UNESCO members.
