During the festival, many interesting activities will be held, including art performances and a range of folk games, centering on the beautiful flower and its medicinal and therefore potential economic value. Its leaves can be brewed to drink as a tea, provide a natural remedy for dysentery and treat wounds or canker sores, while the flowers can be used as a tonic for the blood or as a food coloring. The hardwood from the plant can be made into housewares and is used in fine art and the seeds can be pressed to provide oil.

The festival is held for the first time to promote the potential strengths, cultural characteristics and products of Ba Che district, including the renowned camellia chrysantha, a high value medicinal herb which grows in the district, contributing to promoting the local socio-economic development.
