The program started with the performance of a series of songs, namely “Hanh quan xa” (Long-distance march) by composer Do Nhuan, “Muoi chin thang tam” (August 19) by Xuan Oanh and “Duong chung ta di” (Road to go) by Huy Du and performed by eminent artists Dang Duong, Viet Hoan, singer Trong Tan and other artists from the Military Arts and Culture University, .
This is the third consecutive year that such a program has been held by the People’s Army Newspaper and its partners.
The program recaptured the exciting atmosphere of the national festive day on September 2 when Uncle Ho read the Declaration of Independence, officially giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. This declaration evoked the pride of Vietnamese people from all walks of life in the heroic and beautiful nation of the motherland under the sound leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts.
Meaningful gifts given to the needy
The three-part program took the audiences back to the revolutionary autumn in 1945, the time of hardship of the nation during the national resistance wars against foreign invaders, and the cause of national construction and development. Over time, the resilient spirit, the pride and high sense of responsibility for the nation, the national unity, the love for the nation, among parents and children and between lovers and the close link between the mainland and islands remain unchanged. This has inspired many Vietnamese people to contribute more to the development of the nation.
Together with an emotional artistic space, the audiences witnessed sentimental moments when the organizing panel and other benefactors presented meaningful gifts to the needy. Specifically, a kindergarten built at a cost of over VND 800 million was handed over to Can Ho village, Thai An commune, Quan Ba district of the northernmost province of Ha Giang; VND 200 million was given to Nung Tao Preschool in Huoi Mi commune, Muong Cha district in the northwestern province of Dien Bien; 300 scholarships from the Dan Tri Newspaper’s Study Promotion Foundation were granted to disadvantaged students with good academic results in some localities nationwide.
Also at the event, the organizing panel presented gifts to the study promotion foundation of Yen Bai and Son La provinces and ten outstanding students of the capital city of Hanoi.
