Poetry evening to remember poet To Huu

PANO - The Vietnam Literature and Art Associations’ Union, Vietnam Writers’ Association and Thua Thien-Hue Province’s People’s Committee will organise a poetry program entitled, “Mother’s Hometown” to introduce the best poems of poet To Huu on the evening of December 11^th in the Provincial Information and Culture Center.

The event is to mark the renowned poet’s 90^th birth anniversary and commemorate the 8^th anniversary of his death.

Famous artists from HueCity will recite several moving poems about Hue, all written by the poet, such as “Mother’s hometown”, “A person”, “Song of the motherland” while well-known singers, including People’s Artist Quang Tho, Eminent Artists Minh Duc, Quang Huy and Hong Hanh, will perform songs adapted from To Huu’s poetry.

The organising board hopes that through the program, a combination of poems and songs, spectators could further know about the poet, a pre-eminent poet of Vietnam’s revolutionary poetry.
