Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vuong Duy Bien, noted that the festival aimed to seek artistic photographs by young artists across a range of styles.

"The works submitted to the contest should reflect people, society, landscapes and the process of building and protecting the country," he said at the launch ceremony held on March 24.

All Vietnamese citizens, between 18 and 35 years of age, living both in and outside the country, are eligible to enter. Each photographer can send up to 8 photos.

Entries should be sent in a JPG digital format, at a resolution of at least 300dpi, and size of no more than 4Mb.

Photographers can send entries directly at http://www.festivalnhiepanhtre2017.com until June 30, 2017.

The judging board will award one first prize of VND 30 million (USD 1,300), two second prizes of VND 20 million, five third prizes and 20 runner-up prizes.

The first contest for young photographers was organised in 2015, attracting more than 3,000 entries by 527 photographers.
