PANO – The Thua Thien Hue provincial People’s Committee held a closing ceremony to conclude the 2016 Hue festival on May 4th at the Ngo Mon (Noon Gate) in Hue.

The ninth Hue festival gathered nearly 1,200 artists, including 271 international artists from 18 countries and territories. The festival showcased 53 special performances, featuring international cultures and the quintessence of Vietnam’s arts and culture, as well as Hue’s folk arts and street arts.

According to the head of the organizing board - Vice Chairman of the Thua Thien-Hue provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Dung - the festival was a chance to strengthen the friendship among participating countries through cultural and artistic exchanges. He said the festival was a great success, leaving deep impression on both domestic and international visitors.

The closing ceremony was highlighted by a special artistic program showing love for Hue. The performance brought to the audience the Vietnamese culture, as well as the international cultures of the Republic of Korea, Mongolia and Sri Lanka. The event honored cultural values, as well as the integration and development of the ancient capital city.

The concluding performance - “The Hue festival - See you again” - featured a ‘goodbye’ fireworks display for visitors.
