Movie Screening Weeks marks 65th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory
PANO - The Vietnam Cinema Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on April 18 announced movie screening weeks to celebrate major holidays in 2019, particularly the 65th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - 2019).
This program is organized by the Vietnam Cinema Department, in association with Giai Phong (Liberation) Film Joint-Stock Company, Vietnam Feature Film Development and Investment Joint Stock Company, the Vietnam National Studio for Documentary Scientific Film, Vietnam Animation Joint Stock Company, and Film Screening and Distribution Centers nationwide from April 24 to May 20.

The two films; “Song cung lich su” (Living with history) directed by Nguyen Thanh Van and a documentary titled “Stories of old soldiers” directed by Duong Ngoc Hoa, will be screened during the opening ceremony on April 24 at Dien Bien Phu Cinema.
In the framework of the movie screening weeks, the Cinema Department will organize exchange activities between the two film-making groups of “Thach Thao” film and “Stories of old soldiers” documentary and troops of Infantry Regiment 82, Military Region 2, as well as teachers and students from the ethnic minority boarding school in Dien Bien province.
All the films feature the revolutionary wars of the country, President Ho Chi Minh and Dien Bien Phu Campaign.
