PANO – Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh was elected President of the Vietnam Olympic Committee for the tenure from 2012 to 2016.
On September 22nd and 23rd, the Vietnam Olympic Committee (VOC) held a national congress to review its activities from 2007 to 2012, approve new tasks and elect new leaders.
The delegates also elected the VOC Secretary-General Tran Van Manh, 8 Vice Presidents and 29 members of the VOC Executive Committee.
The goal of the VOC in the upcoming time is to heighten its role in the national development of sports and physical training, jointly work with the General Department of Sports and Physical Training and relevant associations to promote some sports of Vietnam in regional and international arenas, as well as effectively prepare for major tournaments at regional, continental and world levels between 2012 and 2016.
